Planitherm is three times more effective than standard double glazing
Launa Windows is proud to supply a new generation of energy saving glass; Planitherm.
More than a quarter of all domestic heat loss escapes through windows, a somewhat alarming statistic!
Although it’s well known that traditional windows and frames are not the most effective at conserving heat – research has shown that many homeowners assume that all double glazing is equally energy efficient. This is not true as there are huge differences in performance and it’s the specific glass that makes the difference.
Planitherm’s advanced coating technology reflects radiated heat back into a room. At the same time free heat and light as allowed to pass through the glass and into a home. The net result? Lighter, brighter, warmer and more energy efficient. Calculate your savings.
Energy Ratings for windows
In the last few years ‘white goods’ such as fridges, freezers and dishwashers have energy ratings, for instance an ‘A’or ‘B’ rated fridge will cost less to run and save more energy than a ‘D’ or ‘E’ rated machine. This scheme has now been introduced to the window industry.
Most existing double glazed windows, even those installed in the last 10 years (when the first energy efficient windows were introduced) will only be an E rating at best.
Current Building Regulations (Part L 2010) requires all domestic replacement windows to be rated at C or above. Through using Planitherm it’s easy to achieve a C rating with most choices of frame or to step up to an A rated window. Many consumers are now opting for A rated windows as it gives them maximum energy efficiency for a modest additional cost.
