The dual-level structure of lantern roof conservatories complements both traditional and contemporary homes. Their unique shape brings extra light into your living space without sacrificing the insulative properties of a tiled roof, so you get the best of both worlds.

With this type of conservatory roof, you’ll find you won’t need to turn the lights on until the sun goes down; lantern roofs are estimated to bring in three times more light than a standard window.

Internal Pelmet

Our lantern roofs consist of a vaulted ceiling and have an internal pelmet around the perimeter. This provides a space for you to install lights or speakers in a living space that is usually difficult to light.

Tested

Exova Warringtonfire has tested our lantern roofs to ensure compliance with fire safety. Our conservatory roofs also fully comply with the latest Building Regulations and have been pre-approved by Assent and JHAI.

Energy Efficient

Our decorative super-insulated columns provide high levels of comfort and have a U-value of only 0.15 W/m²K. Our slimline ridges are 30% slimmer than traditional ridges and come with high-performance thermal breaks to prevent cold spots and condensation.

Structural Integrity

Our lantern roofs are BBA-approved and come with a 25-year life expectancy certificate. They have been wind-tested at speeds of up to 130mph and fire-tested by Warringtonfire.

Beautiful

A lantern roof conservatory uses fewer bars to let in even more light. With an extended eaves beam, rather than a flat roof, the internal pelmet and external cornice create a stunning orangery roof style.

If you’re designing a conservatory from scratch, a lantern roof is an exceptional addition when you want to maximise light flow, increase ceiling height and create an impressive architectural feature.

High Performance Conservatory Space

Our lantern roofs undergo extensive quality checking and are manufactured to meet incredibly high standards. Because of this, you can have peace of mind knowing that your new lantern roof will keep you and your living space protected from any adverse weather conditions throughout the year.

For further enhanced performance, our lantern roofs can also be supplied with decorative cornices, which are used on the outside to hide the guttering and create beautiful sightlines. Additionally, the internal insulated pelmets of our lantern roofs will enable you to enjoy better lighting and thermal performance. You can even opt for integrated spotlights and speakers to enhance your experience.

Lantern Roof Conservatories

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a lantern conservatory?

Lantern roof conservatories are square or rectangular and have glass panes which layer up to create a roof shape, glowing with natural light. You can install them on top of a room with a flat roof. Or you can decide to replace your current conservatory roof with a lantern instead. Cornices are integrated to carry on the beauty of the conservatory and cover up any unwanted guttering from sight. A stylish and unique roofing style, you can stand out from the crowd with a lantern roof conservatory.

Do roof lanterns lose heat?

Roof lanterns can lose heat a bit more than a tiled roof due to its material. However, Launa Windows can offer you double or triple glazing to increase thermal efficiency and keep the temperature well-balanced for everyday living. Triple glazing is the ultimate heat insulation and will help prevent excess heat from escaping your roof lantern conservatory. You can get both energy efficiency and lots of light together with roof lanterns.

How do you clean a roof lantern?

Roof lanterns benefit from being cleaned with a long-handled product due to their tall location. However, roof lantern conservatories are cleaned using the same products as other conservatories and windows. Just cover the cleaning appliance with warm soapy water to wash away dirt and debris before it gets stuck. To avoid streaks from forming on your roof lantern when you clean it, clean it on a cloudy day so it won’t dry too quickly.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Exeter, Devon, and the surrounding area, including Torquay, Plymouth, Exmouth, Cornwall, Somerset, Newton Abbot, and more.
